I'm a mama who likes to wear Patchouli. How's that for simple. What is Patchouli? It's that "dirty hippie" smell you used to come across at a Grateful Dead concert or maybe at the airport when you passed the Hare Krishna. It's a scent that has come to symbolize freedom to me, in every sense of the word. It's an oil that I wear to express myself, but I reserve it for Freedom Fridays. ***AS OF OCTOBER 2012, I WILL NO LONGER UPDATE THIS BLOG***
About Me
- trayceetee
- I grew up in Small Town, Nebraska, feeling sheltered by the 'safety' of it all. When I moved to Big City, Nebraska, I felt like the world was my oyster. However, I soon felt like there was much more for me Out There... I moved to Chicago, thinking I was done with this 'little' state. It took living in a true big city to realize that Lincoln is just an oversized small town... and it's where I belong! I'm blessed to have a wonderful husband who understands me and all my oddities. My kids are young enough to still think I'm cool. Beyond that, who cares, right?

What frustrates YOU the most?
If someone was to ask me this question, I'd think about it a minute, and then I'd probably say that it depends on my mood at the time. However, one thing I know I could always say is very frustrating to me is when some people get away with everything, and others get away with nothing! An example: a friend of mine tells me how her son is wrongfully accused of punching a classmate in the stomach. This "victim" is a girl, however she is nearly twice the size of the accused. A teacher standing nearby grabs both classmates and immediately begins scolding the accused. The parents are brought in to go over the whole situation and have a discussion about it. Right then, in front of the teacher (who, by the way, is not even THEIR teacher but just one who happened to be on the scene) and both sets of parents and the accused, the "victim" admits, "Actually, I lied. He didn't punch me. He accidentally ran into me and I just said that he punched me." THEN, that teacher turns to the accused and says, "_____, next time, AS SOON as that happens, you need to apologize right away so there's no confusion as to what happened." !!!!! Okay, the girl gets off for lying, and the boy (who admitted--and had been saying all along--that he had merely run into the girl) gets into trouble for not handling the situation in the bizarre manner that this teacher feels would be best! Why doesn't the teacher turn to the girl and say something about how inappropriate it is to lie, and look at the trouble she could have gotten the boy into, why would she do something like that, etc., etc. Any of that? Why did she immediately turn to the boy, who is actually the victim in this case, and still blame HIM? What is it with our society, today, that lets certain people get away with certain behaviors... while other people are doing the best they can to follow along with the "rules" and be the best person they can be--and THEY'RE the ones who never get a break?!? It's tax season, and I know a lot of people are scrambling to get their taxes done... why is it so many "straight" people do what they can to make sure they're declaring everything properly and live in mortal fear of an audit, while there are other people who take advantage of every loophole and cheat the system any way they can, and they never suffer for it? I guess I can definitely say this is one of the things that frustrates me the most: people who always get away with stuff, while other people never do. I think I could write about this over and over again and never exhaust the subject!
